  1. After I configured the track I then hot glued each piece to their train table. After a while hot glue popped loose but it lasted a little bit.

When we were little my dad glued my brother's wooden tracks to a large board (he painted the board first just for looks. Then when my brother was finished playing the whole thing slid under his bed. This was regular glue or something....it never popped loose.

  2. Keep calling. If they say you are on the list say you just wanted to make sure.

I had have had problems with my dryer every since I bought it. They sent someone to fix it, several different times but they took forever to send soomeone. I would call but waited and waited before I called back. I wish now I would have called every day. Maybe I would have a fixed dryer instead of a dryer that has problems and an expired warranty.

    Keep Calling

  3. I am in a similar fix right now too. The repair man is the dad of a good friend. I asked him if it was worth fixing.

He said "Honestly no. You sink that much money in it now for a compressor and sometimes it works good for a while, sometimes it doesn't. Then you are out more money. In my opinion you are better off buying a new fridge."

The way I see it, him telling me that was money out of his pocket but he is a very honest man.

  4. I just took a pair of 8's to Goodwill last week. If I still had them I would have gladly sent them to you. My kiddos loved overalls.

Agreeing with other poster, farm stores should have them. How about consignment shops?

  5. I just peeled, sliced, put in a freezer bag and tossed bag in the freezer. I didn't really think about them turning brown. I was just using mine in pies a couple months later anyway.

For the pies I just took them out of the freezer and ran bag under warm water to get the slices kinda unstuck. Then tossed in my pies.

  6. When we are low on money (alot) or trying to pay off a repair (again very often) I fix alot of potato or rice recipes. We don't have potatoes if they happen to be high that week but if they are cheap I stock up.

With the rice recipes most of the time I will add more rice than the recipe calls for. Stretches the recipe. One of our favorite meals is to fix rice and some brown gravy (I use the packs that I can get cheaply. Brown a little meat (ground beef or pieces of any other kind of beef, usually left over from previous meal) Mix all together, add a little pepper and Yum.

Here is another website I like too.

BTW -- :hurray: to you for deciding to get out of that debt. I think we all need to be encouraged

  7. It was bright and sunny. I hadn't even turned on the tv that day. I was doing some minor cleaning while the baby napped and the 3yr old played. My friend was out doing some errands and heard on the radio about the 1st tower getting hit. She was near my house so she stopped. She came in the door saying "Turn on your tv. Something terrible is happening."

We just sat on the couch watching. Shocked beyond words. The baby woke but stayed very quiet and 3yr old crawled up near me. Continued to play quietly but sat very near me.

  8. It happens quiet often around here and doesn't bother me. I just make sure I shred anything with personal info on it.

Not to long ago a neighbor moved. The next day there was a couple out there going through the garbage cans and boxes the neighbor left by the road. This couple was really digging through the stuff and made a mess. I watched them take various pieces of clothes, a quilt, and some dishes. They put all their stuff in one of the bags they opened. Then they cleaned everything back up before they left.

As long as they don't leave a mess I don't mind someone getting something they can use. Hey beats sending it to the landfill.
