  1. Well, it's over! The labor itself was unbelievably easy. I'm still in shock over it. It was long and slow, but very mild if that makes sense. When I got to the hospital I think the house doctor thought I was not in labor- but surprise! I was already 8cm. I got into the birth tub and labored in there for a bit. I had one contraction that felt like my back was bring crushed, but I remembered to flip onto hands and knees and sometime after that was when he turned I think.

Pushing was a whole different ball game. I think because labor was so easy the pushing stage felt that much harder instead of being a relief like in the past. But it was only about 20 minutes or so and he was out - all 9lbs 1oz of him!

Thank you all for your encouragement and support!

Congratulations on your new little one; I'm happy everything worked out so well.  ( Wow, 9lbs 1 oz is a lot of baby) :hurray:

  2. I'm not sure about Henna going over dye either.

Sally's Beauty Supply would be a great place to look for help to find out what your options are.  I believe there is something called Oops that removes the dye, but please find someone other than me as your guide.

I'm sure it will work out.  You might also call a local salon and see what they suggest.

  3. Sherwin Williams has paint sales...I think in July or you can find a coupon.  Recommended here by a fellow boardie was their Harmony paint.  I was amazed to be able to paint a room and sleep in that night; oh, and we covered a reddish brown (previous owners choice) paint in two coats.

Good paint is worth the price, but I'm all for saving money with sales, and coupons.

There are lots of good quality paints out there, I just liked the very low odor of the SW-Harmony.

  4. June 19, 2015 - 9:30 a.m.

    Just quickly:

Got a call at 2:10 a.m. that ds needed intubated (a breathing tube inserted).  Was on 6L of oxygen and acidotic (unable to breathe out the carbon dioxide), and gasping for breath.  Also, his blood pressure meds had greatly increased.  Got a call at 3:03 a.m. that the tube was inserted; bp meds reduced but still high.

The multitude of things for God to intervene in and show His mighty power continues -

    The battle is HIS.

    Thanks for praying.

  5. I wore Ecco sandals and shoes.  The styles looked European to me, and were recommended by a shoe sales woman who worked on her feet all day.  My experience was a good outcome, I wore them every day all day for a year.  After wearing them and getting used to wearing shoes all.the.time, I can now wear a number of different shoes.  My new favorites are Skeechers Gowalks.

Hope you find the shoes that work for you; painful feet are awful.  (Btw wearing shoes all day was very important.  I also used a frozen water bottle to roll, but not often.)

    Still critical.
    Same conditions.
Some new bumps in the road.
Need solid, sustained breakthrough to healing.
    Please keep praying.
    Thank you.

  7. That stinks.  :grouphug:   Consider discussing or e-mailing (I think face to face would be the best option) the snippy (I'd use another word) e-mail with the sender.  She may find herself with fewer and fewer volunteers.  Expressing tone in e-mail can be tricky, but if you speak with her and she doesn't apologize...it may be time to devote your time where you will be valued and appreciated.

  8. I would sleep downstairs until the heat breaks.  I can't imagine how high my electric bill would be if I turned my AC that low.

(Could you be hormonal; just wondering because when I'm having hot flashes due to pms, I feel crazy hot when no one else is.)

I need to lower our electricity bill, but I need to be cool in order to sleep.

    Any ideas?

I already have the ceiling fan going, but that doesn't do much.

My dh is always freezing and sleeps with 3 blankets. I sleep only with a sheet and generally kick that off several times during the night.

Our room is always 5-8 degrees warmer than the rest of the downstairs, so I have to turn the A/C for downstairs to 63 in order to get it to 68-71 in our room and sometimes I have to turn the temperature down from there because it's just too hot. I wake up drenched with sweat.

Something that I could do to my side of the bed and not his would be great.

:grouphug: I can't sleep when it's too hot.  I get a small fan on my side of the bed for a little relief.

  9. I would get back to the buyers quickly, letting them know you are doing the safety repair.  That may be their must have and the other two their hopefuls.

Bluffing, whatever who cares?  All that really matters is do you want this sale.

I'm definitely doing one repair because I live here and I think it's important to MY safety. I'm calling on it first thing tomorrow. I'm considering another. The rest I will price out.  The no repairs was verbal but it really doesn't matter because I can stick with that and they can choose not to accept it just like they could choose not to accept the inspection as acceptable. The repairs are probably about $3000 but that's not the only separation in price point we have. There's the separation between comp pricing and the offer. I have to factor it all, not just the $3000. If this buyer decides to pass, I have the benefit of their inspection to help decide an acceptable future offer. I'm really not worried about selling the house. I have a bottom line and I'm not really going to stray far from it just to make a deal happen. There will be another one or I will happily stay here. I can't lose. I will be happy either way.
