  1. I pulled my ds out in 3rd grade and realized how much he didn't know after being an honor roll student. This is my 2nd year and it is frustrating when I worked all last year on multiplication because I found out he didn't know them like he should, now I realize he still struggles with addition. I keep going back to work on the foundations I know he needs but he is suppose to be in 5th grade but I am in the middle of Saxon 54 and R&S 4 (which I was told R&S are more advanced to get the grade below.) Do I decide to consider him in 5th grade again next year or just keep trudging along.
  2. How do you feel about how much stock you should place in these test results?
  3. In NC I think we are pretty blessed. We have to submit a Notice of Intent and starting your third year of homeschooling start sending in test results by June.
  4. I am not very technical so I will try these suggestions and see if it helps. I am learning some things believe it or not. lol
  5. Thanks so much I will try this. I appreciate you taking your time to help.
  6. Thank you. I am still struggling with using this site. I feel it has a wealth of information but not sure about how to get around very well. I appreciate your help.
  7. Thanks so much I really appreciated your imput.
  8. Thank you so much you where a big help.:001_smile:
  9. What does dd and ds mean?
  10. I was looking for other tests that people may use. I posted about the Pass and Wj test but any others would be great. I didn't know how to pull this 1st post I placed up to see any responses and not sure if I am responding correctly.
  11. I have used Saxon Math for 2 yrs. I just got this year Professor B Math levels 1 & 2. We love both of them but I wish I would had been able to teach level 1 professor B during his start up with math. Hope it helps.
  12. I don't know where else to go but how do I pull up my post and check responses? I had to search under testing to find this one. I am also not sure how to reply back on responses from my post. Can you help me with this also? Yes I am needy.
  13. I just started AAS this year for my 10 yr old and he loves it and he is learning to read better because he can sound out the words. I have dropped any other spelling, not sure if that is a mistake yet but I see great progress with AAS and anything he enjoys and wants to do is a plus.
  14. I wish I knew how to use this site better. I talked with a guy who is doing the WJ test and he said there will not be any timed things with the test. My son doesn't do well with being timed. I don't know what is best. I appreciate your imput. I am not sure if I am reply to these the right way. If not let me know how and I will do it. Thanks again.
  15. Thanks for your imput. I took the P.A.S.S. test last year after the person doing the WJ testing was not able to do it. I know the cost is more expensive for the WJ. I didn't know the norms wher outdated on the pass. Should I try the WJ this year? I have had to go back and teach my son multiplication and realized this year we are struggling in adding. He is suppose to be 5th grade. Last year was my 1st year and I found out a lot of things we had to learn that I thought he knew in public school. He had honor roll in public school so I am still confused about that. I don't want to not work on the things I know he needs because they are foundations for all the rest. I wonder if WJ would be my best bet.
  16. I am truly sorry you have had this expierence. I had that expierence in the past and started a homeschool group that is member ran, no fees, and our motto is you do what you want and don't do what doesn't work for you or your family. We are laid back. I hope you find something that works for you. Like someone else said get one or two families and do things together. Home Schooling alone is hard you need support. Praying for you.
  17. Can you tell me your thoughts on these two tests?
  18. I am in N.C. and want to know what your expierence with testing.
  19. I am new to this forum and wondering how to post and use the tools and how it all works. Is a thread the same as a post? Any help is appreciated.
