  1. Oh gosh, all kinds of issues.   A lot of back ends dropping and can’t get back up.   Immediate and gradual deterioration leading to death.   There are *some* positive stories so it’s not all bad, but it is not worth the risk for us.  Even if it meant that I had to put mine down a little sooner, I’d rather do that at this point, than take what I feel is a bigger risk having her suffer more on Librela.  BUT people have had good experiences, so I feel bad for saying all that.   My vet told me to do my own research and make the decision myself.  She was adamant that I look into it before we tried it.  And i’m glad she did.

  2. I’m on a Facebook group called “librela experiences”.   It shares good and bad experiences.  For us, we decided not to try it right now until it’s been used for longer.   Our dog gets adequan injections every 3 weeks.  Heat therapy and acupuncture also help.

  3. Good afternoon!   I've been up since early but haven't had a chance to check in!

read.  Trying to get thru my zillion kindle books...

    bible (tonight)

went by Walmart to pick up my grocery order to finish out grocery ordering for Christmas Eve (our big family celebration).

    sorted everything.

made biscuits and gravy.   This time I browned the (turkey) sausage, got out most of the grease, put in 2 packages of 2 different brands of white gravy mix, and made it that way.    I'm about to try it.  Dh said it's good.  We'll see, lol.   He may be just trying to be nice.   (It's pretty ok, lol).

planning to go on a golf cart ride through the neighborhood after while.   Will do it again tonight to see the lights.

at some point, make ds some chocolate bark and put in the freezer for later.

  4. @mom31257 our family Christmas is Sunday at lunch.  We’re doing a taco bar per ds & gf’s wishes.  Maybe a small version of that?   I have to do quite a bit because parents and in-laws are coming, too, but you can scale up or down as needed.    Christmas Day will just be dh and I and I think we’re grilling steaks, so maybe that is an option, too?

  5. I’m in and out this week.  Dh is home and that throws everything off a little bit, though I’m super glad he’s home.

Today, I need to bathe the beagle, do some self-care, place grocery pickup order, some laundry, fix supper— probably quesadillas, go see drive thru Christmas lights.  I MIGHT take the dogs with us so they can see them, but I’m not sure yet.

added on calling the doctor and checking prescription coverage.

decided not to cook anything, we’ll grab supper on the way to see the lights.

  6. I wish I had taken ds somewhere internationally.  You have definitely checked that off the list though!   Your kids are blessed!

ds22 still says his favorite time with me was a last minute, totally unplanned few day trip to nearby city.    We just made it up as we went.    He really loved it.    So for you, maybe a short trip with each kid instead of both?    Nothing big, just a road trip to a nearby locale and make the most of it once you’re there?   We stayed out late, ate at a bar (the same one) for every night at midnight, walked back late to the hotel, went on a ghost tour, just kind of made it up as we went.

  7. Christmas Vacation

    Elf

    a Christmas story

    christmas with the kranks

It’s a wonderful life, even though I periodically shout at the idiot uncle and George.

    Home alone 1 & 2

    die hard

polar express, although I’m 100% convinced we will all look back on that movie 30 years from now and realize how creepy it is.   It’s creepy to me now, but I’m convinced everyone else will start realizing it over time.   I tolerate it because dh likes it.

  8. Ds is engaged and I’d like to get them a couple of books/workbooks to read together.   Christian content is ok if it’s not a lot.   Secular is good.  Anything yall recommend?
I wish dh and I had read something, worked through a workbook, something, anything to prepare ourselves.   I think it may have saved a little bit of heartache in the beginning.
they live together and have seemed to work out some of those types of things (who does what, who cooks, who cleans, etc).   So maybe a little deeper?   Idk.

    Tia!

  9. I'm so sorry about your mom, @ScoutTN.    Is she having bladder symptoms or is it all mental symptoms?   I ask because I have chronic UTIs and am on macrobid permanently.   I know older people get UTIs quite a bit and it really scares me so I'm always curious how their UTI presents itself.    Not trying to be nosey, just ptsd at this point wrt my own experience with them.

I've gotten (and currently doing) some laundry done.  Did some organizing.   Hoping to get the kitchen cabinets decluttered and organized in a bit.   I slept in too late today, but I needed it.   Going through a deep depression right now and just ready for the holidays to end.   Dh and I may go look at some drive thru lights this evening and I need to run through Walgreens for meds.   I think I'm going to get some treats to give to my neighbor who helped me with the fridge the other day.

Netflix and chill means basicly a no stress hookup at your place.  It’s the new version of “Let’s go to my place for a nightcap/drink.”  At least that’s what all the younguns tell me is the saying these days.

I think that was a booty call in my day, lol.

  11. So guess what occurred to me in the shower?    The instruction booklet said it would require a flat head screwdriver.  I got the screw driver, had it beside me while laying on the floor, and for whatever reason saw the BOLTS and decided they needed to be removed even though the instruction booklet NEVER MENTIONED BOLTS!!!   I took three trips out to the utility room trying to find the right socket wrench for the bolts and it never dawned on me that bolts were not even in the damn equation!!!    Brain fog with fibro and AI issues is real.    🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

  12. Yall.  Omg.   So I decided to deep clean my kitchen appliances.   Set the washer to self clean and cleaned it up.  Cleaned out dryer and lint thingee.

so then I got to clean out under the fridge and it has a filter looking plate across it.   I FOLLOW THE DANG INSTRUCTION BOOKLET and remove (hard as crap, btw) the bolts holding it on.  Guess what????????  Those bolts hold the freaking DOOR ON THE FRIDGE.   The door!!!!!!!!!   So I’m on on back like a turtle with my left leg pushing up the door handle and my right hand pushing up the right side of the freaking door and I’m trying desperately to line up the freaking holes so I can get these three bolts on the door so I don’t have my refrigerator door on the floor.  I’m in my pajamas, stink because I’ve been cleaning and I DONT HAVE A BRA ON.   I have to call my neighbor across the street who I’ve met ONE TIME.  He comes to my house and helps me get the bolts back on. He pulls out the fridge like apparently you’re supposed to.    There is dog hair all.under.My.fridge.    He’s like you don’t have to take most things apart to deep clean.   🤣. Yall.  Never ever ever ever ever will I do anything like that again.  Never ever ever.    I am so embarrassed.   He was super super nice, btw.  But I may never look across the street again.

  14. I got ds and gf a crockpot for Christmas so I’m writing out crockpot recipes from my recipe stash so they’ll know what the heck to do with it.    Might give the beagle a bath.   Ds and gf are coming to do Christmas tomorrow and ds said the beagle stunk the other day.   I think dh and I are noseblind to the dogs now, lol.
