  1. Oh, since we're talking about the weather, it's 54 here.   Supposed to get down to 25 tonight.   Boo.   My ideal temp is the 70s-80s.   Anything colder and I'm bundled up for an arctic expedition, 🤣.

  2. Good afternoon!

dh went back to work today, so my normal day starts back.   I'm working on decluttering his and ds's tool chests.   They throw crap in there that should be in the garbage, so I'm cleaning it out.   Surprisingly dh is letting me toss and donate quite a lot.    We've been binging 'Midwest Magic Cleaning' on YouTube and I think he's finally ready to toss stuff.  Thank God.   My love language is decluttering.  🤣.  So I've spent 2 days (including today) sitting on the living room floor going through tool after bit after screwdriver and I'm about to lose my mind.   But my plan is to finally completely declutter our storage room and move our outdoor equipment (weed eater, shovels, etc) to the storage shed.   I want the storage room to be free and clear so we can use it for hobbies (if we ever get one, lol).

    read, probably tonight in bed

    bible, probably tonight in bed

supper:  Asian glazed meatballs, new recipe.

talked to ds and gf last night about upcoming wedding (November).  Trying to figure out what we'll pay vs them vs her parents.    I think we agreed to pay for catering for the wedding.   No rehearsal needed, so not doing that, thankfully.    We'll also pay for his and his best man/bff's suits.   Not sure about other groomsmen???  One will probably be her brother.  Her parents can take care of that.   But still not sure yet who he'll pick.    He's going to be paying for a lot himself, too much if you ask me.   He's going to work like a dog to make her dream come true, which is sweet (and it *is* a beautiful venue), but I hope it doesn't wear him down.    I'm guessing we'll be paying more to help out, which is fine.    We're doing a no-spend year, only necessities, which should help.

    need to FaceTime my mom

@HomeAgain, do you have the recipe for that pasta?    It sounds yummy!

  4. When I turned 4 or 5, I had a birthday party.  At the party, I fell head first over deck railing onto a concrete pad below.   My 'aunt' (not technically but called her that) picked me up and rushed me inside.  When I opened my eyes and looked at her, she was a skeleton.  She stayed a skeleton until I was put in the car and taken to the er.  Probably a small concussion.

Good morning! We've got a storm rolling through this evening with high winds.  I need to see how that's going to affect ds's activities.

    • take ds to school
    • vacuum the rugs
    • clean up the kitchen
    • violin
    • 10,000 steps
    • get ds's skates sharpened/run to Trader Joe's
    • make sure water jugs are filled, cots are on the main floor, and chargers are good to go.
    • dinner: might be leftover enchiladas (which actually they were excited about, yay!)
    • activities?  No clue. DS needs to go to one because of a setback this weekend that touched a raw nerve in him.  Trust is still a bigger issue with his work.  I finally gave this year's leader a head's up and got a response of "oh...so much falls in place now."  TBF, he's also got another kid he's working with in the thick of it with those leaders and sees the correlation in real time.

Us, too.  Our schools are canceled today for the wind.  I think it’s because it could pose a hazard to buses.

just met ds and on my way home.

  8. I must live in a bubble.  Or maybe I’ve just mostly been around normal people, lol.   The most strict was an aunt who went through my cousin’s backpack in high school to read letters she wrote between friends.    Yep, that’s about all I got. 🤷🏻‍♀️   I guess it’s a good thing because I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve and I wouldn’t be able to keep my mouth shut or my RBF turned off.

  9. Well, I saw pics of the guys who stole the wallet.  They look to be around 18 to me.   I don’t feel so bad anymore.  Hopefully they’ll learn a lesson before moving on to more crimes.    They’re still trying to identify them but the photos are excellent.

  10. Oh no, @mom31257, it sounds like you may be getting whatever junk is making the rounds.   I hope you wake up in the morning feeling much better!

fixed quesadillas.   Ds and gf are driving up to get a chair to take back to their apt for their living room.  I’ve been wanting a smaller chair in that spot, so it was good timing since they needed one.   Fixing quesadillas for them when they get here.

ds talked to the detective and they have a really good idea who stole his wallet.   Apparently they have them on camera walking the apartment complex checking cars.  They’re juveniles and now I’m torn.   It’s not my decision, but I wouldn’t press charges.   Ds and dh say to press charges.    It just breaks my heart though to think about minors being charged.   I don’t know their exact age, they may be 17 for all I know.  But I just wish it was an adult would had done it.   😥😥😥

  13. I wanted to do this for my niece, but unfortunately she is not into toys.  🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️ I had hoped that she would be into calico critters and Barbie, and nope, neither.   Sigh.   I don’t have grandchildren in my near or probably far future and don’t know where I’d donate it to.    Please update as you go along.   I’m excited to see the progress!
