I also let things become "easy" when I start getting burned out myself and just want a bit of a break.

Seriously??????
Are the parents out of their minds! Why would you put your child on national tv after the just went through an abduction!!!!
I would put a link but I am on IPad and am clueless how to cut and paste.
Probably because the parents are getting heavily compensated for going on the show.

Am I the only one that allows for things to be easy/not challenging for a time?
At 6.5, I think you will be fine.

When eating food, do you lick your fingers? DH does sometimes and I think it is disgusting simply because I was raised that licking your fingers was poor manners and that we use a napkin.
And I specifically mean while eating a food - after eating or during eating, whenever.

It's about 7am Saturday morning and we have accumulated about 5 inches of snow. Not much for our area!!

Can homeschooling itself be the best homeschooling thing I ever did?!! Hehe

9. But Western New Yorkers and neighboring Canadians discovered a great way to stay warm during The Blizzard of '77. Their secret was revealed by the 18% percent jump in the birth rate and 45% jump in the abortion rate after the storm of the century. That's why local comedians suggest the three B's for surviving a blizzard: Beer- Bread- Birth Control."[/i]
Ummm....I was a product of the blizzard of '77!

I have never heard kiddo used to refer to a disabled child, only as a cutesy affectation of "kid".
Ditto nor has it ever crossed my mind as a term for a disabled child.

We're pretty close to each other! When we toured SUNY Geneseo a few months ago, one of the Bio professors mentioned that the valley there gets very little snow.
We get snow but we are outside the snow belt. The neighboring town gets hammered with snow while we may have an inch!! lol
Did you like the college?

We started the last week of August and completed day 104 today.

Be thankful you only have one of "those"!
I have two incredibly intense, challenging, highly active, busy, active, did I mention active girls and they don't sleep well! AND it's not just me, they are known by our family and friends to be a handful! So rest assured, you are not alone!

Where are you in western NY? I'm around Bath/Hornell and we've had so much snow! Of course I'm at the tip top, and on the darker side, of a big hill, so maybe that contributes. Last year we had very little, though.
We are near Geneseo. Right now it is about 35 degrees and raining. Apparently it is suppose to arrive later in the afternoon for us.
My FIL works in the public defenders office in/near Bath (I think). For Steuben County, (again I think).

Western New Yorker here! 2 feet is nothing normally but this past winter has been relatively snow-less so now it seems like a big deal.
Nothing happening yet though. DH is called to work tomorrow (he is a salt miner) so maybe that says something??
-
Absolutely not.

Three loads of laundry (some is drying, the rest is dried and put away)
Run to Walmart to get some snacks/supplies for the "storm" that is coming
Small girl is showered and in PJs

DH work lunch was made and got him off to work
I showered (every day, first thing)
Toilet cleaned in girl's bathroom
To do:
Supper and clean up
-
Both of my girls take showers. I think they are MUCH easier to administer than a bath.
-
Yes! We are actually in the beginning stages of planning such a move.
-
It's almost 6pm here and we accomplished a good amount of things:
-Bible, English, art, PE (playing outside in the snow!), cooking
-Kitchen is clean
-grocery shopping done
-three loads of laundry done
-the girls made yogurt covered banana pops
-letter to ps mailed
-bought DH a surprise sub for after work!
-Made appointment with our accountant
-House is picked up, beds made
-dh lunch was made and sent him off to work
-supper and clean up
-Big girl is going to shower
To be done:
-Small amount of math work
Math class canceled because my big girl got hurt in the shower...she is ok, cut her thumb on my razor. Her right thumb so we are going to rest it tonight. Math will resume tomorrow!

2/1 - 2/3 = $60
2/4 = $93 groceries

Has anyone ever been told to have their wisdom teeth removed, not had them removed and then been fine?
dd is very anxious about having her wisdom teeth removed, most are impacted. She really wants to leave them alone but they do bother her from time to time.
She is very, very anxious. :crying:
I had all four impacted wisdom teeth removed at once when I was 25ish. I was also very, very anxious too. I was knocked out for the procedure and I paid out of pocket for it. It was the best money I EVER spent in my life. Recovery wasn't terrible except when they had to change the gauze and I had slight dry socket.
Hands down, get knocked out.

Thank you for your list! My big girl is BEGGING for another Chemistry curriculum (we worked through NOEO Chemistry 1 last year). I am going to try and put something together and your list is great!!
Do you lick your fingers when eating food?

It makes me sick too and the "sound" that can accompany finger licking also makes me feel really sick.
