We have a 2008 Dodge Caravan (this was the year it came out with the newer look). I enjoy it and have no issues with it. It is basically the same as a Towne & Country except not as expensive.
In regards to the poster who mentioned all of the electrical issues, our dealer told us to NOT buy a minivan with all of the bells and whistles (electric side doors, hatch, etc). The less electrical gadgets on the minivan, the less stuff that could break!!

Every now and then I find my small girl's finger in her nose  , so I asked her why she puts her finger in her nose and she says "Mommy, it's part of my calculations!"
I think her calculations are a little off!! LOL

Oh my! I'm 35 and I wouldn't do crazy hair color!

We are taking the minivan for a trip out west. There are only four of us and plan on packing our camping gear. We would rotate tent camping with motels to save money. I can't sleep well in a tent, so I would need motel nights to sleep nicer.

My girls don't sleep much. I'm not even sure when my big girl actually falls asleep after I put her in bed. I estimate they both sleep around 9 hours each night. No naps.
And they are highly active all.day.long....

I think my small girl will begin K5 in the fall using:
Horizons Math
BJU English
Bible
Lots of RAs, crafts, games

I made the mistake of serving some young guests soup with kale in it. I did chicken nuggets after that.
We eat lots of weird vegetables and grains and legumes. I also make Hamburger Helper, which seems to be the worst thing you could possibly do to your children. Sometimes I buy poptarts. My 2 year old finishes my glasses of soda. Depending on what meal you join us for, you might think we are freaky-deaky crunchy granola healthy. Or you might think we eat nothing but processed garbage.
I don't buy pop tarts...but Grandma does!! The girls love going to Grandma's overnight because they get pop tarts for breakfast!

Oh, I drink Diet....lots of it.

In another thread, someone mentioned they ate an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream in one sitting once and made it seem like "yikes!". I had to LOL on that because if I have a pint of ice cream in front of me, I'm eating that entire pint of ice cream! How's that for healthy!?!?
Back on topic - I do strive to prepare as much healthy foods as possible, from scratch but it's not realistic in my world. I do keep snacks as healthy as possible too but baking up a batch of cookies and letting the girls have a cookie for snack is something I do. I also have the "token" kid food on hand for when I just don't feel like making anything - Spaghettios, boxed mac n cheese, canned ravioli.
I do take the girls to McDonalds probably once or twice a month but they aren't allowed fried food or soda. They get double apples and milk with their Happy Meals (cheeseburger and hamburger).

I call myself a stay at home mom. But housewife doesn't bother me.

I agree, don't let language stop you. My father, who is profoundly gifted, immigrated from Germany around age 11 and was sent to public school without knowing English at all. He learned English! These types of kids will learn! Don't worry!

Oh my, that's nothing! Dh and I have always wanted to do a "dessert only" day for all three meals. We never did it though. I have a raging sweet tooth and sweet fast Monday thru Friday then allow myself something on the weekend. I think nothing of having a slice of cake a la mode with whipped cream, for example!

Plain and simple....what IS healthy?
The original food pyramid.
Even with (~gasp!~) carbs as the base! The key is following the serving sizes (ie. ONE slice of bread is a serving).

Although the delivery person is taking the risk that you don't rob him or beat him up. Happens...quite a bit around here in fact.
Then I would find a different job. Or never start that job to begin with.

The waiter/waitress isn't using his/her own car/gas to bring you your food, nor paying insurance and getting wear and tear on said vehicle driving food to you, nor outside in all weather etc. etc.
No but they are stuck with you for an hour despite how pleasant you are or crabby or needy or annoying or grouchy or loud or rude, etc etc.
Oh, along with about 5 other tables.
-
I also tip less at the Chinese buffet. They only bring drinks and take the plates.
I also tip less in a buffet than a full service restaurant. But it's comparing apples to oranges in terms of the amount of service the wait staff provides.
-
A waiter takes your order and brings over the food. Big deal. I don't feel like that's worth a tip either.
LOL! Noooooo!
A server also puts a lot of your order together, gets/refills your drink, runs to get that extra sauce or napkins, picks up your dirty dishes, take care of your payment, etc. for you along with about 5 other tables. They have to deal with the "jerks", the nice people, the needy people, the picky people, etc.

Though we never use delivery, the pizza shop we mainly buy from is like 2 miles down the street. So tipping them more than a server isn't reasonable imo. After working in a restaurant (and only as a hostess), my eyes were truly opened up as to how much a server actually does! I tip very well now.

Our state requirements have us working on American History first so I use BJU Heritage Studies 1 with my 1st grader. It's easy to beef up or just read through. I like that flexibility because history is more of a "gravy" subject in our home school.

We take it when the ps does because my niece often comes over during the week to play with the girls.
