  2. This was pointed out to me, in case anyone else has the same question (scroll to the last question). [emoji4] https://welltrainedmind.com/frequently-asked-questions-about-phonics-reading/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thank you [emoji4] I remember (it's been quite a while) in the WTM, it gave a recommended lesson number to be at in OPG before beginning FLL and WWE. [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'm waiting on my 4th edition copy of WTM to arrive (and no longer have my older version) and have a quick question! :-) After which lesson in OPG to Reading, is it time to begin FLL and WWE? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. My two oldest learned a bit of beginning diagramming. My younger set has used some Winston Grammar. We are, however, getting ready to begin using FLL (even though they are probably much older than the recommended age) because I think it will be great for them (and I like how simple FLL 3 and 4 look for learning it). 6. Ah yes! Sonlight books. [emoji119] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I pretty much overcame the curriculum addiction around year 7 or 8 of homeschooling, but, oh yes, the struggle was real. lol Now actual books on the other hand... [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. We just finished "A Christmas Carol" and have about 3 chapters left of "Rush Revere and The Brave Pilgrims". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I use the spiral notebook method for daily work. I keep math tests, compositions, science lab sheets/notebook, and a list of books read. Those things, at the end of the year, go into a manilla envelope to be filed. In high school I begin transcript keeping. So, basically, I don't really keep grade totals until transcripts start. 10. Yes, we have a school room. Of course, after our written work, we prefer to use the regular living room to just veg out on the couch doing reading and read-alouds, but, I can't imagine not having a school room! Just the storage and organization make it so worth it. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I live in Michigan. Just curious, are you homeschooling as a "non-public school"? Because, under the homeschool exemption, there are no such requirements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks for the suggestion! I did, as well. [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hello all, I'm the homeschooling mom of six. Half of them have now graduated (ages 21, 20, 18), with three still being schooled at home (ages 15, 12, 7). We tend to homeschool with a literature approach, mainly, but use elements of various methods. :) I have lurked around these forums for many years (I actually remember the old-fashioned boards, even lol 😂)
