Mx5
I did call a pharmacist with that very question once. Go for it!

LG Gone Wild
one is anti-inflammatory and the other an antihistamine. It would be different if you were taking Advil and then Aleve or something. Besides, aren't anti-inflammatories and antihistamines often combined in OTC medications? beansprouts
I would take them together. My stomach would bother me if I had to take too many meds for too long, but that only means I would try to take them with food.
Parrothead
Yup, I've taken them together more than once and lived to tell the tale. Have you tried the Zyrtec for the hives? I had to take one just a little while ago because I went outside with my wrists exposed. The itching and slight swelling that had started was gone within 30 minutes. PS, if things get really bad, I've taken Zyrtec (1) and Benedryl (2) at the same time (twice) and it was wonderful! KidsHappen
PS, if things get really bad, I've taken Zyrtec (1) and Benedryl (2) at the same time (twice) and it was wonderful! Yes, my dr. has said this is ok as well. Apparently they are different kinds of anti-histamines and they work differently?
tibbyl
Do not why you can't take Advil and Benadryl together. One is an anti-inflammatory and other is an antihistamine. I've taken aspirin and antihistamine together to fight both allergy and concomitant headache.
Parrothead
Yes, my dr. has said this is ok as well. Apparently they are different kinds of anti-histamines and they work differently? Yes, that is why the Zyrtec is better to fight hives. My PA told me that Zyrtec is the only OTC that is specific to hives. I haven't had hives bad enough to go to the ER since I started taking the Zyrtec.
