Learning to write Chinese characters for kids

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I would like to find a book that will put The Usborne Internet-Linked First Thousand Words in Chinese (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0794515509/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=chiwitkid-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0794515509) and The first 100 Chinese Characters: Simplified Character Edition:  The Quick and Easy Way to Learn the Basic Chinese Characters (http://www.amazon.com/First-100-Chinese-Characters-Simplified/dp/0804838305/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452313394&sr=8-1&keywords=tuttle+first+100+chinese+characters) together.

Basically, I'm looking for a book that will teach how to write Chinese characters while visually appealing to a 7 yo.  The Usborne book has great pictures whereas, the other book actually teaches the strokes, but has no pictures.

Is there such a book out there?

Thanks in advance!

ETA:  I like this from education.com.   http://www.education.com/slideshow/write-chinese-characters/chinese-language-characters-woman/   But not sure where they got this from.

Hey Arcadia!

Thanks for the link.  I actually did see that one too and it's not exactly what I'm looking for.  I'm looking for probably pictures with the characters while simultaneously teaching the strokes.  For example, the word Elephant (in English, in Chinese would be a bonus), then a picture of an elephant, then showing the strokes for the character.

I hope I'm making sense.

It will make much more sense if you teach in traditional Chinese. My son learns better with traditional Chinese.
