Luanne
This is especially true when it comes to driving. People were crusing down the road like the roads were completey dry. It has been snowing off and on all day. The roads were definitely NOT dry. I only saw a couple of other people (like me) who had slowed down at all. Can I go live in a cave? Then when it snows I don't have to go out and take a chance of getting wiped out by some maniac driver.

fraidycat
:grouphug: Winter weather is NOT fun for driving. Just yesterday my parents were stopped at a four-way stop with another vehicle approaching, and Dad told Mom "I'm just going to stay here because I think that truck is going too fast to stop." Sure enough, the truck slid sideways through the intersection when he tried to stop. I feel the same way you do (with snow) about the rain here in SoCal, though. If at all possible, I try my hardest to not leave the house when it's raining, and only go on surface streets if I must go. Freeway + rain = No thanks. I usually take the interstate to get her to work, but I refuse to drive on it when it is snowing. This next week should be interesting because it is supposed to snow Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Her days off are Friday and Saturday. YIPES!
Ottakee
We live in Michigan where people should be used to driving on bad roads but I still drive very defensively.....and slow.
tearose
I used to feel bad about holding people up because I slow down a lot on snowy/icy roads. Then someone said to me, "Think of it this way: you're keeping THEM from getting into an accident, so don't feel bad." I've definitely had cars pass me in annoyance ... and then I pass by them further down the road, and they're stuck in a ditch.

You would think they would be used to it here in Colorado as well. It snows here all the time.
unsinkable
I think snow country people think they are invincible, KWIM? Like,eh, we do this all the time. It's just a little snow! My kids don't understand why we leave earlier when it's snowing. KIds! My fav snow driving expression...it's four wheel DRIVE, not four wheel STOP.
