Italian resources

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend some Italian resources? This would be for a 10th grader, 8th grader and 3rd grader. I could do something lighter for the younger one.

I thought that with our Latin studies, Italian would be an easy one to add.

Would Rosetta Stone be ok? What grammar would we need to add?

Thanks,

Melissa

Also UN Reno has distance ed for Italian (college level) but I think 3 semesters which is quite nice. The website is being upgraded so I don't know if you can access it --they used the same Italian book, so it must be OK. Also their catalog had some French and German advanced reading courses for credit, also.

Here are a few things that I'm using:

Fairytales written in English and gradually move into Italian. Here is the website that offers this:

http://www.slangman.com/store_one/index.php?cPath=32 . You can get them at Amazon.com. I had my local Walden bookstore order them for me.

I also have Instant Immersion Italian v2.0 . It is a basic computer software program that teaches Italian words and phrases. I think there are lists such as food, clothing, colors, etc. I also have a grammar workbook put out by Barron. I also own a little audio Italian set that gives the basic conversational openers such as Hello! How are you? What is your name? etc. I'll have to get back to you on the name of it.

I didn't have the money to get Rosetta Stone, so I've just put together what I can. I'm working with a rising 10th grader, but we still used the fairy tale books with audio tapes. My dd loves them! I hope to get more readers to add to our program.

HTH,

Jan P.
