blessedmom3
Also , anyone knows how does A Beka compares to MCP Phonics B (Modern Curriculum Press ). MCP seems far less teacher intensive .
elegantlion
You will need the answer key, it has the answers only no teaching (unless that has changed in the last few years). If you buy the Curriculum guide is up to debate. We chose not to use it, but all of the day-to-day teaching is in the guide. We simply did the next lesson. Tree House Academy
You need the test key and the anwer key if you are going to give the tests. There are ones where it says, "write what your teacher says" and you have to have the key to know what to say! LOL
dtsmamtj
I didn't use the TM for Abeka before 3rd grade, and then I only used the math TM just to help the checking process go a bit faster after multiplication/short division. I don't test prior to 3rd grade either though and then only in math and grammar. Prior to that I could tell by the daily work if my child understood the concepts being taught. On the math assignments or grammar assignments that wanted the child to fill in the blanks under "write what your teacher says" I made something up.
