Washington D.C Touristy Question

Recommended Posts

My husband and daughter are in DC right now (she asked for the trip for her 16th birthday gift!) and my husband called me with a question. They would like to do a bus tour of DC at night but they are not sure about which one to do.

Any recommendations? They would like to do it tomorrow night.

Thanks!

I was just downtown on Tuesday to see the Cherry Blossoms. Hope the rain last night hasn't changed the beautiful sight!

This is the bus co. I always see driving around town. I took it once myself- you can pick it up at any of their stops, get out, walk around and pick it up again wherever you want- pretty flexible, I think.

Tell them not to miss the Library of Congress, Capitol Visitors' Center and the Botanical Gardens. The LOC is a beautiful building!

Hope they have a great time!

I'm not going to be much help as I live here and haven't ever done a bus tour. Something dh and I did do and LOVED was a Segway tour. It was really fun and gave good information. We did it mostly because I knew dh had always wanted to ride a Segway. The ride itself was very fun. They do have night tours. It's pricey but was worth it for us. These are two companies. We used the Capital Segway one and I would defnitely recommend it.

It may not have started yet (it's a seasonal tour), but we did Tourmobile's nighttime tour of the monuments & really enjoyed it. It was a great way to get to all the monuments & they were lovely in the evening. The tour we did left from Union Station.

(I know a PP linked Tourmobile's site, so you can check for details there.)

Thanks so much!

Tourmobile is the one my husband saw at (on?) the Mall but he wanted me to do a little checking for him before he shelled out the $$$.

I bet that he would love the Segway Tour, but I am not so sure that my daughter would!
