orangearrow
How are my cousin's children related to me? Are they just "my cousin's kids" or is there an "official" name for them? :) And - how are those same children related to my kids? I thought they would be 2nd cousins, but now I'm not sure... DH and I have a very small immediate family, so his cousins & cousins' kids are pretty much the only "extended family" my kids will ever know. We're just not sure what to call them... lol :bigear:
Jean in Newcastle
There's a really neat chart in this link. But my mind started to freeze up looking at it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin
Anne
Your first cousins' children are your first cousins, once removed. Those children and your children are second cousins. First cousins share one set of grandparents. Second cousins share one set of great-grandparents. Etc. Hope that helps! Anne
