caitlinsmom
I need some book recommends for Plato, Aristotle, Confucious, and Chinese and Japanese Poetry. dd is 6 with a fairly short attention span. Stacia
In the Eyes of the Cat: Japanese Poetry for All Seasons is nice. It goes very well with Grass Sandals: The Travels of Basho. Also, check Demi's biographies. I'm not sure she covers the people you listed, but I know she has one on Buddha, one on Jesus, one on Muhammed, etc.... Perhaps she would have one or two of the people on your list.
Karen in CO
We like The Basho book that was already reccomended. For China, There is a nice Ancient China Treasure chest. I don't know of anything for Plato or Aristotle for that age.
Alana in Canada
James Baldwin, in Fifty Famous Stories Re-Told has one about Socrates and another about Diogenes. He may have anecdotal stories about Plato and/or Aristotle in his other works. You can find the books nicely formatted at http://www.mainlesson.com/display.php?author=baldwin&book=fifty&story=_contents Edited January 18, 2009 by Alana in Canada

mcconnellboys
Demi has out a couple of great books on Confucius, I believe. For Socrates, you might try Wise Guy: The Life and Philosophy of Socrates, M. D. Usher. I haven't found anything for little guys covering Plato or Aristotle.
