plain jane
Anybody here use IEW's Ancient History Based Writing and have the teacher's guide? From what I gather it is a new product. Is it worth the cost to have both the student workbook and the teacher's guide? The IEW website says the TM isn't necessary, I'm just wondering if anybody highly recommends the extra cost or can explain to me what I'd be missing by not getting it. Melora in NC
I can't tell you what you would be missing, but we are using just the student book with no problems at all. I downloaded the free (with any purchase, I think) Student Resource Notebook, which is helpful in making the Ancient History Based Writing lessons easy to teach. Quiver0f10
We are using the ancient without the TE book and so far I haven't had a problem. I had one lesson I did have a few questions and the ladies on the IEW yahoo group were very helpful.
Kathy in NC
but we could probably do fine without it. It offers discussion starters, sample brainstorming results to write on a whiteboard (or just talk about with your student), and vocabulary quizzes. I like having it for simplicity's sake; but the course could be done well with just the student book (which is written to the student)

lmrich
I bought it and returned it. Spend time pouring over the first lessons for the student and you will get the idea.
