percytruffle
Ds, 18, made a ghillie suit last year. It took him about six months to make it all by hand. I have pics up at my blog. You'll never guess what he ended up using it for! It was such a fun day!! Come see: Percytruffle's Place
RebeccaC
Cool I have one birder who thought this was an excellent idea and wants to copy it. Thanks for sharing.
King Alfred Academy
That is so cool! Your son has a lot of patience and did a great job! I would LOVE to be able to feed the birds by hand like that!
Remudamom
That's great. For the bird fans..........I've seen a wooden person frame that you put your own clothes on, feed in the hand, then leave it in your yard til the birds eat from it. Then you put the clothes on and sit there yourself and voila!
joannqn
Wow! Making that suit took a lot of dedication and patience. The kind that I certainly don't even come close to possessing. I'm amazed.
percytruffle
Actually, if they are used to eating at a feeder in your yard already and there is shrubbery nearby where they land you can get them to come right to your hand sometimes. You have to be patient and stand very still close to the bush, but the chickadees are very brave.

Just Another Jen
That was awesome! My 15 year old is taking notes and planning his own already. It'll be a great addition to hang in his closet next to his chain maille shirt and coiffe! And his bird watching sister is pretty excited too.
