looking for the name of the writing I used many years ago with WTM ....

Recommended Posts

Many many years ago, about 10 , my daughter in a grade somewhere between 5 and 6, a writing book was rec from that level WTM. I can not remember the name of the book!   I really DO NOT think it is any WWE or WWS book. It was a book to write: persuasive, descriptive, narrative, and expository writing.

It taught to brainstorm , circle the main idea and then find 5 plus ideas, then circle the best ones. Create the writing with those topic sentences and 3 ish supplementary sentences. Then make an intro and a hook etc.   Can anyone tell me what I am talking about ?

Jump In (Watson) teaches all 4 types of writing. I can't remember if that is how that program teaches brainstorming, but that sounds familiar. (DS#2 used Jump In over 15 years ago, so that also fits your time frame of when the program you're looking for would have been in existence...)

If not Jump In, then maybe one of these long-time homeschool programs:
- Wordsmith (Cheaney)
- Writing Skills (King)
- Writing Strands (Marks)
- Write Shop level I

If it was in an older WTM edition as a recommendation, probably not these, but just throwing it out there just in case:
- Write Source
- Four Square Writing (Gould)
- Scholastic Paragraph Writing Made Easy? (Smith & Shiras)
- Evan-Moor Daily 6-Trait Writing
