Cecropia Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Ds has a high score for our state, and we are confident that he will be a semifinalist, but nothing yet. I've been obsessively checking college forums to see if the initial letters recognizing Commended+ students have been sent out, without much success. His College Board account states that he meets eligibility requirements. (There's a chance that the HS where he tested registered him as one of their students instead of using the homeschool code, so I wouldn't be recognized as the principal) Quote
jplain Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) Sit tight! Semifinalists and Commended (and their principals) are informed in September. https://www.nationalmerit.org/s/1758/interior.aspx?sid=1758&gid=2&pgid=1745 But if you don't get the request to confirm eligibility by end of April, you can call NMS and ask about it. They are very friendly/helpful! Edited April 23 by jplain 1 Quote
Plagefille Posted April 25 Posted April 25 We did get a letter a few weeks ago. It may be worth checking to see that he was registered as homeschool and not to the local school. I know our local high school councilor said registration was different and a little confusing this year, so mistakes could have been made. Quote
BusyMom5 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I would call the school tomorrow and ask. If you can't get ahold of someone, then call NM. They are very friendly and helpful! Best of luck!!!! Quote
