LauraClark
Here's another planning thread 😊. Ds #3, do these are tried and true: Bible: read together with all the kids and discuss Language arts: Dictation Day by Day (spelling), writing stands book 3, read good books, learn cursive with a diy I created. Plain and Not So Plain for grammar probably-I might look to see what else is out there. FLL3 was way too much for previous 3rd graders. Math: R&S 3 (M-Th), Life of Fred (Fridays), mind benders puzzles (Fridays) Science: Berean Builders Ancients with older ds History: SOTW 4 with older ds Geography: seterra, focusing on countries Greek: Hey Andrew book 2 Latin: Getting Started with Latin (I think... The other kids used Latin's Not so Tough, which is fine but really similar to our Greek) Other: piano, biweekly historical dance, weekly art class I teach, nature journal on Fridays Looking forward to seeing what others are planning! wendyroo
Audrey's 3rd grade year will be a hybrid of virtual public school (so they pay for extra curriculars) and homeschooling (so she actually learns something). It will also be a hybrid of 3rd and 4th (and 5th) grades because she is very asynchronous. ELA and History: Bookshark American History (with her big brother), plus Lantern English and Spelling U See Science: Bookshark Science, plus constant camps and volunteering at the Humane Society Math: Math Mammoth 5, plus Hands on Equations Spanish: Immersion Class which includes art, culture and unit studies Memorization: Anki Extras: Gymnastics, dance, skating, rock climbing, scouts, plus on-campus electives at the virtual school, she is hoping for cardio drumming, orienteering, zoo school, and something else cool

wendyroo
2 hours ago, LauraClark said: I've never heard of this: more details please 😊 It is a form of exercise class that is all the rage around here. For adults it normally involves energetically drumming on a yoga ball. For the kids they just have them stomping and drumming on the floor in time to music. It is exactly the type of activity I’m glad they are doing there and not here!!

Brittany1116
We are trying something new! We are using the expanded HOD Bigger Hearts curriculum, with Rod and Staff English 3 and CLE math 3. We are using everything except 2 science books I just wasn't interested in. We'll also do some more LOF math, likely books F-H. I'll add the next level of Mind Benders as well.
