Innisfree
The vast majority of toaster ovens I see seem to be intended primarily for small scale cooking or air frying. Our experience with the one we have is that it’s painfully slow in producing actual toast. We need a toaster oven that will do a good, quick job toasting two slices of bread, heating up biscuits or croissants, things like that. It needs to have a small footprint. It doesn’t need to be big enough for cooking. Does anyone have one they like?
catz
Interesting. We just replaced our toaster with a cuisinart oven style toaster/air fryer a couple months ago and it toasts incredibly fast. We're much more likely to over toast/burn stuff in it than otherwise. Faster than our old traditional toaster for sure. The toast mode is 3-4 minutes. It doesn't have a super small footprint though.
Corraleno
I have had this little Black & Decker toaster oven for 9 years and it's still going strong. Holds two large oval slices of homemade sourdough or 4 slices of a regular square loaf. Toasts about as fast as a pop-up toaster.

Maybe it’s just our Oster, then. It’s the only really big one we’ve had. I had figured it was so slow toasting because it was heating a larger space, but it may just not be good at that feature.
