KidsHappen
This is for my dgc for next year. He is very strong in grammar but was taught writing without any formal program. He is good with sentences and paragraphs but not various types of writing. We are looking for something to cover the basics and prepare him for starting public high school the following year. Lori D.
Power in Your Hands -- student book + teacher guide 1-year program. For grades 9-12, but I think a student who is strong with grammar and paragraphs could do it -- pretty gentle, written to the student, and explains things well. It covers a variety of types of writing (several types of essays, plus real-life writing).
Green Bean
Jump In! By the same lady as the one Lori is talking about above. I believe in starting lower when the foundation is shakey. Better to breeze through something gaining confidence than struggle gaining nothing.
Momto6inIN
My oldest who came from ps (so a mishmash of disorganized writing instruction) did Wordsmith Craftsman in 8th grade and he was ready for high school level writing after that.
