Tanaqui Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 All the articles I can find about this when googling are from August of last year. If there's nothing more recent, that suggests that this didn't pan out as great as all that - it may be a tool in the box, but it's not the be all and end all of covid treatment. Though it could just be that my search isn't very good. 1 Quote
KSera Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 I did a bunch of searching as well, and I found something from August of 2020 showing some success with treating Covid related thromboses, but not for treating Covid itself. This study of 5 people appears to be the one listed here: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/study/NCT04368377 The August report on thrombosis treatment: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/medicure-announces-aggrastat-shows-promise-in-treating-thrombotic-complications-due-to-covid-19-in-early-clinical-reports-301117225.html And the Cochrane review investigating prophylactic treatments for thrombosis in Covid19, finding no studies which met inclusion requirements: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33502773/ It does sound like it showed some initial promise at treating thrombosis, but the studies were small and I can’t find any follow up that’s more recent. 3 Quote
