drjuliadc Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 What I mean is, when it says your child is 85% through their 4th grade material, how accurate is that? I am talking about when Prodigy places your child, he wasn’t assigned a grade and no one changed the percent required to have mastered a topic. Rather, the default is used. Quote
kiwik Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 I think it is accurate that they have done that percentage of the 4th grade work that prodigy will set. With the level - once it had my g4 in g6 for 3/4 of grade 6 then dropped him to g2 because he didn't know US measurements. Quote
drjuliadc Posted November 26, 2020 Author Posted November 26, 2020 When Prodigy declared your child in G6, what actual grade level did you think they were in? Were they doing G4, 5 or 6 in your Main curriculum? Quote
kiwik Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 At the time we weren't really doing a main programme. He had done a bunch of stuff about grade 4 and 5 the year before and this year we did a grade 6 text. I put the grade override on and switched to Australian settings and it seemed to go OK. I think it might place slightly high but with curriculum differences it is hard to tell. ds is about a year ahead of grade mostly. 1 Quote
silver Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I forget the exact details, but Prodigy placed my child multiple grade levels above where she was actually working. During the placement test, it would give her only a few questions per grade level before "advancing" her (eventually incorrectly). Quote
