Lang Syne Boardie Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 "The" original fairy tales? What era, country, origin, religion, or other belief system? Quote
sweet2ndchance Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 The Andrew Lang "Fairy Books" have pretty close the to original tales. Here is a link to the books on Project Gutenburg. The World of Tales website is another great website for folk tales and fairy tales from around the world. Keep in mind that the original tales can be graphic or inappropriate for very young children or sensitive children of any age. Always pre-read and make sure it is a rendition of the tale that is appropriate for your child and your family. 1 Quote
8filltheheart Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 If you get Grimms, Anderson, Perrault, Jacobs fairy tales in their original (translated) form vs abriged or summarizations, you will be reading the real stories vs. modern retellings. 2 Quote
