gardenmom5
I have a lodge (it's big, it's heavy, and it's a pain to clean) - and am thinking of replacing it with a particular heavy triply. any experience either way?
Laurie
I have a Lodge square frying pan and it's so heavy that I rarely use it these days due to arthritis in my thumb joint. I can't even imagine how heavy the Dutch oven must be! My Dutch oven is 4 1/2 quarts by Cuisinart. It was part of a set but I don't use it as much as the other pieces, mostly for stew in the fall/winter. But I like the way it looks and the way it cooks! And I didn't want glass lids. https://www.cuisinart.com/shopping/cookware/fct3545-24
Liz CA
How big do you need it to be? I have both Lodge items and one Le Creuset. I use them differently.

(I have an 8qt FC stock pot we really like.) but wondering if it's big enough... ugh, it has a flat lid.... My lodge is 6qts. I make pot roasts in it, as well as soups and stews. I like the French classic line - comparable thickness to all-clad triply/stainless. (most triplys on the market are thinner.). made in france. (C. multiclad pro/MCP with rolled rims is also same thickness - made in china.) the AC d5 is 5 1/2 qts. (and costs 3xs as much.) still deciding.
