KeriJ
We've always used Sheppard Software for quick map drills. But today I spent time on Seterra. I wish I had spent time there before. I love it. I the online drills and all the printable options! So I'm trying to map out how we'll use it this year. I'd love to hear how you use Seterra! alisha
In the past, I just said do it. But this year, for 7th grade, we're going to be more intentional. I did each quiz I wanted him to do to decide on a percent I wanted him to accomplish. Then I made up a list. With 2 circles next to each, so he had to do it 2 times (different days). The list was the title of the quiz, for example: NOrth America-Canada Provinces Get 100%. Then he will do it as many times as necessary until he gets 100 %, check the circle, then move to the next if he was quick.
Momto6inIN
I just have them spend about a half hour on it once a week freshman and sophomore year (by that time they've finished other more formal geography work). My goal is for them to memorize all the countries of the world and then work on the capitals, but if they don't master the capitals it's no big deal. Mostly I want them to be able to listen to the news and know where in the world they are talking about.
MistyMountain
I used it with BYL 7 last year. As we were reading about a continent they worked on the seterra map for that continent until they could get 100%.
