klmama
My SIL received a message proporting to be from my MIL. It was sent "Using Messenger without Facebook" and said "Logged in using a phone number from Nigeria. Account was recently created. You added ___ on Nov. 18, 2018." The photo was the photo MIL has on her FB page, but her FB doesn't have any other log-ins than her own computer and iPad. Is there something else MIL should look at or change regarding this? Or is it just a fake and she needs to report that somehow? Is it likely SIL's phone or computer was infected with something from the message? They would both be grateful for any suggestions. Ellie
It sounds to me like a fake, and she should report it to FB. It will be easier to do that on her computer than on her phone. If she opens the message, she should see several little icons at the top of that message, one of which is a little gear that says "options." Reporting a problem is one of those options. I don't think it's likely that her phone or computer was infected with anything, but I'm not a specialist.

klmama
Thank you. I'll share this info with SIL so she and MIL can work this out.
