beka87
I'm sure the answer exists somewhere on this board, but my searches aren't working. For those of you who use W&R, is it possible to only use the Teacher's Guide? Thanks!
desertflower
The Teacher's guide and Student Manual are virtually the same thing. It's just that the TM has answers and the SM has space for the student to write in. It is helpful to have the SM, so I don't have to create a new binder for another subject. I can only speak up to book 5. hth

Clear Creek
I find it is helpful for the student to have their own book after the first couple books. Some of the assignments (in the third book maybe) involve crossing out unimportant sentences in order to create a summary, and the student routinely annotates the text in the upper level books and would not be able to use the teacher's guide since sample annotations are already made in the text. AdventuresinHomeschooling
We have used it without the student manual, but it is really helpful. There are several fill in the blank or circle the correct answer questions or cross out the..., and it's a lot easier to hand the book to the child and let them work rather than sit and do each question with them orally or in a way where they can't see the answer.
