maize
Has anyone ever had visual field test results that seemed way off?
Kanin
Is this something done at a regular eye doc?
Sunshine State Sue
There are different types of tests. One is a 24-2 that tests peripheral vision. The other is 10-2 that tests central vision. I am assuming you had the 24-2 because I think that's more common. This is a guide on how to read the printout. I am by no means an expert. I will look at the fixation losses (#6) and the numbers (#8). My doc says that the mean deviation smaller than -5 is bad (#10). At times I have had too many fixation losses and then the printout shows *low test reliability*. If you want to share your test, I can give you my amateur opinion. A doc should never suggest anything based on one test, particularly if it seems "way off". HTH!

It is commonly used for glaucoma patients though that is not what we are dealing with.
