CLHCO
Can anyone suggest a good book with points on what is important in writing style and perhaps publishing a fiction (specifically fantasy) novel for a teen? I'm not looking for a "curriculum", just a book she may find helpful. I need a Christmas gift idea for one of the writing nuts. TIA!

Kareni
A writer friend was very impressed with Reading Like a Writer: A Guide for People Who Love Books and for Those Who Want to Write Them by Francine Prose. The book is also available in paperback. Regards, Kareni
KJB
Steven King's On Writing: Memoirs of the Craft? http://www.amazon.com/Writing-Memoir-Craft-Stephen-King/dp/0684853523 Great book even if you're not a Steven King fan.
Carol in Cal.
I read it when I was a kid. I think it's written by Elizabeth Yates. "Bird by Bird" is pretty adult--It's by Anne Lamott. I would preread, but it might be OK for a mature-ish teen. Neither of these is about a specific genre, but they are both good.

I also have "Revision and self-editing" by James Scott Bell, it is an excellent follow up to plot and structure.
