new food processor (blender?)

My $5 Craigslist food processor died and I need to replace it.

I chose that one because I'd never used one and I figured I'd give it a try. I used it all the time and now would like a nicer/better one.

Recommendations?

Also, my blender died. My daughter wants us to own one. I don't really care. Is there a good/cheap one you know of?

I love my Cuisineart food processor that has more than one bowl incorporated into the same machine.  You can get these at Williams Sonoma.  The newest model also dices in addition to chopping, shredding, and slicing.  That would be attractive to me as an added feature.

When my last blender died I ordered a refurbished Vitamix from Amazon.  It wasn't cheap, but it was much cheaper than a typical Vitamix, and came with the same accessories and warranty.  Also if the one my mom purchased nearly 40 years ago is any indication I think it's likely to be the last blender I ever purchase.
