Alte Veste Academy
DS15 wants to take a series of MOOCs this summer, perhaps into fall. It's a serious subject and, frankly, too much work for it not to go on his transcript, LOL. The only question I have is whether or not I should bother with a certificate. I am completely undecided on this. Anyone have thoughts either way?
regentrude
Unless the class gives official college credit that is transferable, I see no reason to bother with a certificate. You can list it on the transcript and give details in the course descriptions.
klmama
The only reason I can think of it being worth paying for a certificate is if it's in some kind of job prep subject and your dc doesn't plan to attend college, but wants to find work that uses that training. Even then, it may not be necessary.
Julie of KY
Unless you have a need for the certificate, I wouldn't get one. I just list in my course descriptions what I actually did.
