alohasaunders
We've been using First Start French from Memoria Press. This worked great when we had a native French tutor - since then not so much! In addition, I'm needing a program that will grow into high school level coursework. French Essentials, Middlebury and BJU French are two I've found that look promising but I crave input. Our son LOVES Latin...French is not his favorite subject. Since some universities don't recognize Latin as a foreign language we are doing French. Any input is appreciated! Thanks Edited April 6, 2018 by alohasaunders forgot one company
Roadrunner
I don’t know if any school other than a military one that doesn’t recognize Latin. We have used Galore Park French program with great success in middle school. If you have a 4th to 7th grader, I would recommend it.
RootAnn
I don't know of any colleges that won't accept Latin (other than the AF Academy and even then, they might accept it). If loves Latin, why not let him continue that? Keeping up two languages is tough and should only be for kids who have the interest, IMO. HomeAgain
We are currently dabbling in French with One Third Stories and First Step En Francais, but I have L'Art de lire (followed by L'Art d'ecrire) on my radar for coming years. It's Canadian but available as a download.
alohasaunders
Thank you for your input. I'll check those programs out as well. We plan to continue Latin just want to have all bases covered ;)
hollyhock2
Two of mine are using L'art de Lire quite happily. L'art d'ecrire, as mentioned above, is for 9th grade, I believe, so that would be high school level.
