The World in Ancient Times by OUP

If you use this for logic stage history, do you assign the entire series?  Or roughly how many chapters do you do a week?  A got a few volumes out of my library and they look great.  But it also looks like a lot of material, even though it would be for a strong reader.

We did it as a read aloud along with Human Odyssey 1 and Human Odyssey 2.   Is your signature still accurate? If so, I would not use it with those ages (9, 7, and 5).

I did need to update the signature!  I’d be using it next year with a 5th grader, while my youngest two use SOTW 1

There were a couple of places where there were references I was not comfortable with in the OUP books--I wish I had made note but I haven't. I would skim ahead. It was regarding rape or something very similar.  It's not all over in the books--keep in mind we have read all of them (including almost all of the medieval and early modern, but definitely all of the ancient world ones) and it only came up once or twice that I skipped a word or two. But if I was going to put it to my 5th grader I would want to know. I guess you could do a quick skim?   ETA: At least I think it was in the OUP books. We have also been reading a bit in a book about artists and I have had to screen a lot of that one.

We use K12 Human Odyssey as a spine and add in parts of the OUP here and there, for topics that we are particularly interested in. I like them, but found them choppy for a spine.
