Lady Florida.
Our two cats were doing pretty well but got into it tonight for some reason. One of them lost a nail. She was bleeding pretty badly but it seems to have stopped. I think she should see a vet so it doesn't get infected from the litterbox but can it wait until Tuesday when the regular vet opens? I really don't want to drive 40 miles to the emergency vet if it's not an emergency. ETA: I found the nail on the floor along the path she ran towards the bedroom. It looks like the whole thing (not skin but he whole nail). Edited January 1, 2018 by Lady Florida.
lmrich
Our cat had a problem with a cut on his paw near the nail... so not the same thing. I read that a saline solution was best to clean the wound and that an antiseptic cream can be used like Neosporin. You can try to wrap it, but your cat will pull off the wrapping. Good luck, and I hope your sweet kitty gets better quickly.
Sdel
Use paper litter for cleanliness for a few days if you don’t already use it. Stefanie
Lady Florida.
We managed to clean it off a bit. She didn't want us near it so that was fun. Not. She doesn't seem to be in pain, so my concern is the litter. Paper litter sounds like a good plan.
