mlktwins
So...last year, I wanted to pull my hair out (so did my boys) doing the geometry section of MM 5B. I posted something on here and I realized we are not the only ones that don't like how MM teaches geometry. What would you recommend to replace that chapter? I haven't look at it yet, but I do have all of Keys to Geometry that I picked up brand new at a used curriculum sale. Thanks!
Momto6inIN
We don't do MM geometry past 4th grade I think, maybe a few simple lessons in 5th. We use Hands On Geometry which is a free PDF I found on this board somewhere in 6th and Understanding Geometry from CTC in 7th and 8th, both only on Friday's as a "fun" math. Julie of KY
I'd look at MEP - level 7 and up.

mlktwins
I used BA and MEP http://www.cimt.org.uk/projects/mep/ We have done some BA and the boys enjoyed it. It looks like Geometry is in 3A, 3C, 3D, 4A, and 5A. We have done BA3 so maybe will look at 4A and 5A. Thank you! We dabbled in MEP in 1st grade. I will take a look at this again in the morning :-). Thank you!
Momto6inIN
https://chps-tandl.wikispaces.com/file/view/Hands+on+Geometry.pdf Is this the PDF you were referring to? Yep, that's the one. DD learned a lot from it and enjoyed it a lot, even though math is her least favorite subject. Sent from my Z988 using Tapatalk

Would you just pull those topics from years 7-9 and do them?
Julie of KY
if you are looking for just geometry, then yes you can just do the MEP geometry sections. I've actually done that with one student that I was tutoring.
