SarahW
A google site search indicated that this has not been mentioned here before.... but I came across it and thought others might be interested. It's a documentary about Asperger's, done by a homeschooler. "Through Our Eyes: Living with Asperger's" (youtube). I'd be interested in hearing what other people think of it.
MomatHWTK
Waiting for others to go there first. I sometimes don't like or agree with what others have to say about the condition. ; )
Pawz4me
It's a documentary made by a young woman who is an Aspie. She interviews two of her Aspie friends. So it would be pretty difficult to argue with them about the condition. ;) A few minutes is devoted to comments by professionals and their parents. I first watched it months ago, but I watched it again to refresh my memory. I think it's very well done. I can "see" a lot of DS in them, especially in the young man. mom of 2 boys
Thanks for sharing, I went ahead and watched it. I'm on the spectrum, and I think this was pretty spot on. I really appreciate that they explained that a lot of the social difficulties are rooted in simply being so overwhelmed by your environment that it's hard to tune into the social world. If you can't tune in, then you're not going to pick up on how to socialize in a natural way. Also, I think that these two young ladies are very blessed to have such supportive families.
