Chinese medicine. Wu Yang patches/bruise plaster

My daughter lives in chronic pain.  Multiple specialists can't figure the cause, so she is trying acupuncture right now. Her acupuncture treatments flare up her pain, so  after the treatment she is trying different pain management ideas. Her acupuncturist recommended Wu Yang Medicated Plasters (bruise plasters).  She tried it this week and felt it really helped. Anyone have any experience with them?

I would like to buy her more, but her acupuncturist sells them for $3 each. We cut them in half so they last for 2 treatments. But the price will add up over time if she uses them on a regular basis.  I can find them on line at Amazon for less, but I am reluctant to buy there because it is hard to know if you are getting the real thing or a knock off.  Anyone know if there is a reputable online seller or where I can buy them for a reasonable price?  (I live outside of Portland, Oregon)

Have you tried Tiger Balm?

I looked up the ingredient list for the plasters, and it looks like the main ingredient is white camphor oil.  Tiger Balm ultra has a high concentration of white camphor oil as well.  You might give it a try. Tiger Balm also sells plasters/patches but I'd try the higher concentration cream first before going to the patches to see if it works.

Portland has a huge TCM community (there is a great school there); you might try calling here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/golden-cabinet-herbal-pharmacy-portland

Tiger Balm is our go to muscle rub.  DD even got a large size pot in her Christmas Stocking LOL. (as a joke because she loves it so much)

She says that the patches are like Tiger Balm but stronger and since they are a patch, they are longer lasting too.  She says the sensation is similar (hot/cold) but goes deeper and wider. The smell is much stronger and not as pleasant as TB. The patch smells like menthol/camphor/compost LOL . She put the second half on tonight and we will see how she does.  I may just buy some on line and call it good for a while. They sell it in a roll as well as the patches so I will check out the price difference.

You are right, there is a large TCM community here. There are many Chinese markets in our area, but if I spend too much time driving around, I will spend as much in gasoline and time tracking them down.  LOL

I'm not sure if these would be similar to a Wu Tang product, but our tae kwon do place uses these on bruises during class (I am an old, clumsy student, so I have become familiar with them):

Our Costco sells the size in the link (about 3" x 2") and they were much cheaper than the link above.  Our TKD dojang has big ones, about 4"x6".

We use Tiger Balm at our house for aches and pains and the smells are similar between Tiger Balm and the Salonpas, so maybe they would work?
