ReadingMama1214 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 My 2nd grade (8yo) nephew is Autistic with a few other learning disabilities. He attends a program through a local public school that is specialized for autistic and similar LD students. He is close to reading and can read basic things, but still needs to sound out most words. We live 2,000 miles away, but my mom is looking for some iPad apps, games, or tools to help him grow as a reader. It seems that he needs to gain fluency. Quote
Ottakee Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Check out I See Sam beginning reading app. I have not used the app but used the books to teach my kids to read and they worked very well....esp for kids with learning challenges. Quote
ElizabethB Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 (edited) my online lessons, read write type http://www.talkingfingers.com/read-write-type/ I have some youtube videos that are more fun but not as comprehensive as my online phonics lessons. Here it is, the boring ones have a nice little warning, boring label. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC7yiFJ9K3tTseq4tYGCJTyA Edited September 14, 2016 by ElizabethB Quote
