Nicole M
Okay, I'm talking the verbal questions. In the last three months, I've only gotten one wrong, and I'm no genius. The math questions, on the other hand -- oy! I take them to work with me and have the college kids there 'splain 'em to me. Actually, that's fun. But the verbals often seem ridiculously easy. Do they really reflect the difficulty of the test?
FloridaLisa
Good question Nicole, because I've always thought they were easy as well! Lisa
Kareni
Hey there, Nicole M! My guess is that the verbal questions seem easy for you because you're a reader of longstanding (and one who reads more than the TV Guide or the Yahoo headlines!). If you were to spend a like amount of time doing some Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry problems each day, I suspect the math problems would seem similarly easy. Believe me, there are many young people for whom those verbal questions are ludicrously difficult. By the way, how goes your eldest's German class? Regards, Kareni
Beth in SW WA
They must be somewhat easy -- since ds 13 gets the questions right most of the time. Me, on the other hand.... :)
Nicole M
Gosh. I hope I didn't sound snarky, asking this question. I just wondered if the questions themselves really were similar in difficulty to the ones on the actual test.

Regards, Kareni Well, heh, heh, even when I was taking all those math classes, that math section on the SAT seemed pretty much like a cruel joke to me. Thanks for asking about German. He's pulling his hair out right now, trying to come up with sentences that contain 50 descriptive words about himself. He's up to 35. "I have no children" and "I am not fat" are the two that seriously cracked me up. On the whole, the class is going well. He loves taking the bus and being Mr. Independent. Hope things are well over your way, too.
Kareni
I'm glad to hear that German is going well for Mr. Independent! As for me, I'm in the midst of writing (with big helpings of procrastination) a homeschool profile and a counselor letter for my eldest. Can you say, "Help!!!"? Regards, Kareni
coopers5
I would agree that it's probably just because you are a strong reader. I don't think they are any easier than they are on the actual tests, in general.
