melbotoast
I'm making a chicken pot pie but it is from a freezer meal cookbook so there are only instructions for cooking from frozen. I'd like to cook one without freezing it first. It's a 9 inch deep dish pie. The original instructions say 15 minutes at 450 degrees and then 45 min - 1 hour at 375. Should I do 30-40 minutes at 375? ScoutTN
Yep, that sounds about right.
zoobie
That should work though it may need more time. You want the filling to be bubbling hot. I know the recipe I normally use is an hour, but it's a larger dish size.
umsami
I'd say it's going to take you closer to 45-60 minutes, but I'd watch it. As zoobie said, you want the filling to be bubbling and the crust to be nice and golden.
