OnTheBrink
I have an HP all in one (printer, copier, scanner) but I've only bought ink once and I've not gone through a ream of paper yet. Mine is the C4400.
TraceyS/FL
My HP Office Jet Pro L7580 is rated the cheapest printer to run when i checked Consumer reports. It's about 1/2 the cost of the lasers. I switched to it from my brother. You can join consumer reports for $6 for the month - i'd probably do that to check out the features that are important to you. Melissa B
I have an HP Photosmart All-in-one. I love it. I buy the ink from Costco. I almost always set both the printer and the application to the lightest ink setting, so I use very little ink per page. I still replace ink about three or four times a year - but I print a lot! I buy paper by the case, but we use it for everything, not only printing.
Matryoshka
I love love love my all-in-one. I have the HP 7210. It actually makes copies at a speed that does not make me want to huck it out a window. And it has a "fast" mode that not only copies faster but uses less ink. I do have to replace ink a few times a year, but I photcopy a ton - like at least 55 pages a week. (I make worksheet packets for all 3 kids, plus I copy at least 4 pp x 2 kids per week of Easy Grammar). And wait, that's not even including the photocopying that gets done on the day of writing coop lately... and I print out a lot off the computer too.
