It's In Defense of Memorization by Michael Knox Beran, and it mentions Susan Wise Bauer's The Well-Educated Mind. Enjoy! So many of my friends can't see how I would want to teach classically, as they feel memorization is just stuffing the kids full of random facts and trying to make them smarter while not teaching them other lessons needed.
