Caviar Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Has anyone here used Grammar Revolution by Elizabeth O'Brien? Have you liked it? Did you use just the textbooks? Or, did you use her online program? Which is better? OR, is there something better "out there" for teaching grammar through sentence diagramming? Quote
nannyaunt Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I haven't used it, however I have been looking at this and something called Step-by-Step Grammar at RR. I would also be interested in hearing if anyone else is used either of these. Quote
deerforest Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) We used it last year (5th), and DD loved it, and she learned a ton. I bought access through Homeschool Buyer's Co-op, and we did the online program, and then I bought the advanced book for ongoing practice. We go back to it for practice every now and then. It was largely independent. She would watch the videos and then I'd sit with her while she did the practice sheets. I didn't think the videos were that professionally done in terms of production value, but I think that's part of what appealed to my DD. She loves learning from hip women, and Elizabeth feels very approachable to her. We have used so many grammar programs over the years, but I think DD would vote for this being her favorite. MamaTX5 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 We will be doing it next year. I read elsewhere that it was like Analytical Grammar, but that it explained the concepts better, so I bought it. I also bought it through HSBC. Quote

JudoMom Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 We've used it and think it is fabulous. We've used Get Smart and the 180 sentence diagramming book. If you have questions, Elizabeth is very good at answering emails. I bought the whole shebang, so I have access to the PDF files and it was money well spent. Quote
