Leav97 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 We're new to cub scouts. My DS is currently a Tiger scout. If I understand correctly he moves up to wolf this spring. I'm looking a the family camp weekend this summer. What supplies would we need? It says food is provided. Tent, sleeping bags,...? I camped in a tent once when I was little. This is all new for me. Sherry in OH Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Your pack or the venue should provide lists of necessities, suggested extras, and don’t brings. Our basics are: Tent Ground cloth Air mattress and pump or sleepin pad (recommended not required) Sleeping bags or sheets and blankets (air mattresses are cold, put a blanket under the sheet if not using a sleeping bag) Personal mess kit for each camper Refillable water bottle Daypack or string bag containing Cub Scout 6 essentials Clothing, including sleepwear A second pair of shoes Cooler Flashlights and/or headlamps Hot dog/marshmallow sticks Insect repellant First aid kit Toiletries Any necessary medications 2 Quote
shawthorne44 Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I agree the troop should provide the list. I think it also depends on the comfort-level you require. I love the family camp-outs. I think it is the best of both camping worlds, troop-only and individual family only. We have a family tent, and there are instant playmates. I especially like the instant playmates. But, at night we all snuggle together in the same tent. 1 Quote
