Thinkwell AP Calc BC?

Tell me about Thinkwell AP Calc BC. Is a thorough program? I'm seeing that some reviewers say Thinkwell's stuff is supplementary, however that was referring to lower grade levels.

 

My son is going into engineering so his math teaching needs to be solid. Not just a "teach to the AP test" kind of class....

It's very through. The problems most people cite are (1) not enough practice and (2) tests not matching the lessons. We used Prealgebra  and Algebra, so I can't comment on Calculus specifically, but Ed Burger does the lectures for all the courses and he is excellent. Some of the lectures were recorded a long time ago, and it's funny to see him with giant poofy hair and 4" wide purple ties.  :laugh:

1) You can see example Thinkwell Calc videos on youtube.

 

2) If you already have a few colleges in mind I would look at what they cover for Calculus 2.  The AP BC class might miss some topics or cover other topics.

Has your son already taken AB calculus? If I recall correctly, the Thinkwell BC calculus assumes you've already taken AB. We thought about using it for my ds, but did not end up using it.
