Dianne-TX
we counter-offered and we haven't been notified about anything! We are so anxious it's hard to go through our day. I know noone knows what will happen, but is this normal? Is this bad news? This is our first house to sell so we don't know what to expect. Since we haven't heard anything does that mean they said "no" or would we get a call even if they didn't decide to buy ours? I just need to get it off my chest and hear input from others. Thanks... Tracey in TX
You should hear something today if they're local, regardless of the decision. Their realtor will contact yours, if you're using one. I'd call your realtor to discuss your apprehension. They should earn their commission, and if you have an issue they're trained to facilitate a discussion between the two parties.
WTMCassandra
Check with your realtor, but I think it's fairly standard to give 24 hours for someone to respond to an offer. This is ugly, but they may be waiting until the last minute to make you sweat. Or, on a more positive note, they may be rechecking their financing and waiting to hear back from them. I hope this works out like you plan. Did you put a time limit on them to counter back? They don't have to respond if they are not interested in the counter. A courtesy call would be nice but they do not have to do that. We usually do not take counter offers we make 1 fair offer then move on to the next.
