GThomas
We are looking for a self-study, one-semester program for Veterinary Science for my 9th grader. I think a textbook is what we need. She has already fulfilled her science for this school year so this is sort of "just for fun". She aspires to become a veterinarian so I'm thinking a textbook that she can pick and choose subjects from and write a few reports during the semester will be good. Any suggestions on what textbook might be good for this? Any video resources? Or any other suggestions? Thank you guys!
TarynB
No personal experience, but Landry Academy has an Intro to Veterinary Medicine class that uses this: Clinical Textbook for Veterinary Technicians, ISBN 978-0721606125
TarynB
Has your DD watched the TV series on Dr. Pol? http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/wild/the-incredible-dr-pol/
Hoot
I'm not sure whether it's Animal Planet out Nat Geo Wild, but one of them just had a series out called Vet School. That would be a really good watch to supplement. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
GThomas
Yes! Her current interest is Bondi Vet but has also watched Rocky Mountain Vet. ;-) Thanks for idea though. I much appreciate your response! GThomas
Oooh, sounds interesting! I will check it out. We have friends coming to visit us next month from the States so this sounds like something I could ask them to bring us if it's on DVD. Thank you! daijobu
For fun, you can read or listen on audiobook Animals Make Us Human by Temple Grandin. If you page down to "Customers also bought..." section, you'll see more books of a similar vein. Sounds like a great learning unit!
